Child safety standards
Version 2026-10-22 · Kenet Tech Pte. Ltd.
Acquainted is for adults only. We do not allow any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and we act on every report.
Who can use Acquainted
- You must be 18 or older. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and refuse anyone under 18; it can't be changed afterwards.
- Meetings take place in person, in public venues we choose, at times both people confirm. There is no chat between members and no way to share contact details in the app.
What is not allowed
- Any content, behaviour or contact that sexualises, grooms, exploits or endangers a minor.
- Bringing a minor to a meeting, or arranging to meet a minor through Acquainted.
- Lying about age, or helping someone under 18 to use Acquainted.
How to report
- In the app: open the meeting and choose Report, or go to Safety (under Me).
- By email: privacy@acquainted.app. Write "Child safety" in the subject.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the local police first (in Singapore, 999).
What we do
- We review child-safety reports first, within 24 hours.
- We suspend the account at once while we review, remove anything involved, and keep what the law requires us to keep.
- We report confirmed child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the authorities where we operate, and cooperate with law enforcement.
- Anyone who breaks these standards is banned for good.
