Terms of use
Version: 2026-10-22
Acquainted is run by Kenet Tech Pte. Ltd.. It helps you meet new people, one-on-one or in a small group: in your plans you say when you're usually free, where you can get to, what you'd spend and who you'd like to meet; we arrange a meet (who, when, where) two or three days ahead, everyone says yes or no by its decision time, and you meet if it's on. Using Acquainted means you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or over.
- One account per person, with true details. Don't pretend to be someone else.
- Your account is for you alone.
2. How to behave
In the app and when you meet, don't:
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or hurt anyone;
- post sexual, violent or illegal content, or content that breaks someone else's rights;
- scam anyone, or ask for money, investments or loans for any reason;
- ask for or send contact details or links before you meet, or move people to other platforms;
- use Acquainted to sell or recruit;
- record, film or publish someone's details without their agreement.
If you do, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close your account, and we cooperate with the authorities where the law requires.
3. Meeting safely
Meets are at public places we book. Tell a friend your plans, go at your own pace, and leave whenever you like. In an emergency, call the local emergency number (the app's Safety page lists it). You can report or block anyone at any time; we never tell them who reported.
4. Saying yes or no
- Every proposal says when it will be decided. Until then you can say yes or no, and change your mind; nobody else sees what you chose.
- At that decision time everyone's choice is final, and it's decided for everyone at once: it's on if you both said yes, or, at a group's table, if at least three people did. Only then do those coming get the exact place, the table and their code word.
- Once it's on there's no calling it off: please only say yes if you mean to go. If you need to leave during the meet, you can, at any time; if something is wrong, use the Safety page.
- Group meets are for people who chose to meet in a group: three to seven people, on when at least three say yes. Everyone in the group sees each other's first name, languages, "About me" and what each chose to show.
- When nobody fits everything you asked for, we may loosen a wish you didn't make a must (your age range by up to 5 years, your areas, your budget), and the proposal tells you which. A wish you make a must is never loosened.
5. Pass and payments
- The pass is monthly; the price is shown before you buy.
- You can turn off renewal at any time, in the app or with the payment provider; it stops at the end of the current period.
- Refunds for purchases through Apple or Google follow their rules; for other purchases, ours: [refund rules, to be added].
- With a pass we arrange at least one meet a week for you. If a week ends without a meet while one of your plans had a time open, and it wasn't your own doing, you choose: money back for that week (7/30 of what you paid for the pass behind it; for a purchase through Apple, a refund request Apple decides on, for the whole payment) or 7 more days on your pass. If you don't choose within 7 days, it's the 7 days. A pass we gave you (not one you paid for) can only get the 7 days.
- Your own doing means: you said you couldn't go, you hadn't said yes or no by the decision time, you called a meet off (by blocking someone or deleting your account), or you didn't turn up to one you'd said yes to. Days you took off ("Take time off" in your plans) don't count as open.
- For any other week without a meet, including one you said no to or didn't answer, you can ask us for 7 more days in the app (Settings → Help and feedback), for the current week or the one before, once each. We look at every request and tell you what we decided; whether to grant it is up to us.
6. Your content
What you write is yours. You let us store, process and show it to provide the service (for example, to the person you're arranged to meet). When you delete your account we delete it, unless the law requires otherwise.
7. Changes and ending
We may change or pause features, and tell you ahead of important changes. You can delete your account at any time.
8. Liability
[Disclaimers and limits of liability, to be drafted by a lawyer for the applicable law.]
9. Law and disputes
[Governing law and dispute resolution, to be set by entity and region.]
